Tanks hold e-liquid in a reservoir and automatically feed it to the coil via wicking, offering convenience and capacity of 2 to 8ml. RDAs require you to manually drip juice onto exposed coils every 10 to 15 puffs. RDAs deliver superior flavor intensity and allow easy coil experimentation, while tanks provide a hassle-free experience. Many experienced vapers keep both for different situations.

Ensure the tank uses a 510 connection, which is universal for most modern mods. Match the tank coil resistance range to your mod wattage capability. Check juice capacity based on how much you vape daily. Sub-ohm tanks pair with mods capable of 40 watts or more, while MTL tanks work well on lower-powered devices. Consider coil availability and cost since you will replace them regularly over the tank lifetime.

Clean your tank every time you change coils or switch flavors, roughly every 1 to 2 weeks. Disassemble the tank, rinse all parts except the coil in warm water, and let everything dry completely before reassembling. For deeper cleaning, soak glass and metal parts in unflavored vodka or isopropyl alcohol for 30 minutes, then rinse and dry. Regular cleaning prevents flavor ghosting and extends the life of your hardware.

Leaking usually results from worn O-rings, loose connections, or improper coil seating. Check that the coil is screwed in firmly and all O-rings are intact and properly positioned. Avoid overfilling past the maximum line as expansion from heat forces juice through airflow holes. Make sure the airflow is closed when filling. Thicker juice with 70 percent VG or higher leaks less than thin PG-heavy liquids in sub-ohm tanks.

Most tank coils are proprietary and designed for specific tank models, though some brands share coil compatibility. SMOK Baby Beast coils fit in several third-party compatible tanks. Vaporesso GTX coils work across multiple Vaporesso devices. Always check the manufacturer compatibility list before purchasing replacement coils. Using incompatible coils can cause leaking, poor performance, or unsafe electrical connections.
